As part of the 35th edition of Malta Festival, we invite you to a special day of workshops taking place on June 24 at the Festival Club. This event is part of a program developed in collaboration with Kulczyk Foundation and local Poznań-based organizations, focusing on empowering women in the areas of awareness, body, and being. The workshops build upon the Foundation’s ongoing initiatives such as “Menopause Without Taboos,” “Career Cycle,” and “Balance,” and are the result of joint efforts with the Julia Woykowska Foundation and the Women’s History Museum Foundation.

Throughout the day, participants will be invited to join two sessions – each offering a unique opportunity to reflect on themselves from different perspectives: through movement, improvisation, creative expression, and work with memory, history, and heritage.

June 24, 10:00 AM – IMPRO Workshop: “My Roles, My Power”

At 10:00 AM, we begin the “Women’s Roles” improvisation workshop – designed for women who feel, who seek, and who need. Over the course of three hours, in both group and individual work, we will explore the roles we assume, the ones society imposes on us, and those we wish to break free from. Using theatrical improvisation techniques, we will uncover female archetypes and find strength, spontaneity, and freedom within ourselves. The workshop will be led by Agata Kominiak, Jagoda Ptaszyńska, and Agnieszka Szałkowska – experienced improvisers and creators of artistic and educational projects rooted in empathy, communication, and care for mental wellbeing.

June 24, 2:00 PM – “In Search of the Female Ancestors”

At 2:00 PM, join us for “In Search of the Female Ancestors” – a workshop dedicated to creating women’s family trees and mandalas that honor the memory of the women in our families. This intimate, reflective session will explore questions such as: what traits have we inherited, what strengthens or burdens us, what was forgotten and what is worth recalling? The workshop will be led by Paulina Kirschke – journalist, researcher, and president of the Julia Woykowska Foundation, initiator of numerous projects on women’s memory and co-author of the equality policy for the city of Poznań.
