Following last year’s performance of Embodying Pasolini – presented at the Malta Festival by Tilda Swinton alongside Olivier Saillard – fans of the Scottish actress are in for another spectacular treat. This time, we would like to invite you to Warsaw for a one-of-a-kind exhibition: Tilda Swinton – Ongoing.

The exhibition will be open to the public from September 18, 2026, to January 17, 2027, at the Creative Industries Institute (the former printing house of the Polish Press Agency) at 65 Mińska Street.

This marks another chapter in Tilda Swinton’s collaboration with Malta Festival. In 2025, the artist, together with Olivier Saillard, captivated the festival audience in Poznań with their performance of Embodying Pasolini. Now, in Warsaw, audiences will have the chance to experience the Ongoing exhibition, previously showcased at the Eye Filmmuseum in Amsterdam and Onassis Ready in Athens. The Warsaw edition has been tailored specifically for the unique, post-industrial space of the Creative Industries Institute. This is the first time the project is being presented in a venue that has never previously functioned as an exhibition space. The adaptation of the display across nearly one thousand square meters is being designed by the award-winning architect Maciej Siuda, who has harnessed the raw character and potential of this new interior.

Tilda Swinton – Ongoing explores collaboration as a source of creative courage, imagination and new ideas – values that have also been at the core of Malta Festival’s program. This is the next stage of the exhibition’s international journey and the next chapter of our collaboration with one of the most outstanding artists of contemporary cinema.

The exhibition was co-created by artists with whom Tilda Swinton has collaborated over the years on films, performances and artistic projects: Pedro Almodóvar, Luca Guadagnino, Joanna Hogg, Derek Jarman, Jim Jarmusch, Olivier Saillard, Tim Walker, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, and Sandro Kopp. The showcase features films, photographs, installations, objects, archival materials and works created specifically for this project, weaving a narrative about creative partnership, memory and the continuously evolving creative process.
