ENTER THE GREEN ENERGY ZONE

30/08/2024

Throughout the entire duration of the Malta Festival, from September 7 to 15, the Green Energy Zone will be available to the public for free in the Old Brewery Park. It will be a place for education as well as entertainment for people of all ages.

Humanity faces many challenges related to climate change and resource management, among other things. Awareness and changing habits can be steps toward a better, greener world. The Malta Festival, appreciating the beauty of nature in its program and reflecting on the future, holds pro-ecological principles close to its heart. These will be embodied in the Green Energy Zone, set up in partnership with Polenergia, which will be located in the Old Brewery Park. From September 7 to 15, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. (and on Friday, September 13, until 8 p.m.), visitors can come and enjoy the numerous attractions offered.

The Green Energy Zone will be a place for the whole family. Those hungry for knowledge will have the opportunity to participate in various workshops, where they can make their own eco-friendly cosmetics, incense, or Florentine tablets and learn more about the everyday uses of upcycling and pick up some useful gardening tips. Every day, there will also be a screen-printing station where visitors can bring their clothes or accessories to decorate them with pre-prepared designs, all in the spirit of giving items a new lease on life.

Those who enjoy testing their knowledge will be able to do so in eco-themed pub quizzes and compete for prizes. The humorous aspects of a green lifestyle will be highlighted in improvised performances by the Warsaw Comedy Club and spontaneous recitals by the Warsaw Comedy Club. On weekends, visitors can use a special bike station to generate energy with their muscles and make delicious freshly squeezed juice or smoothies. Free apples and heather plants will also be distributed in the Green Energy Zone.

The Green Energy Zone is the result of a collaboration between the Malta Festival and its partner, Polenergia – an energy group that promotes the use of alternative, renewable energy sources and raises awareness of sustainable development in various areas of life. All events in the Green Energy Zone in the Old Brewery Park are free of charge.
