Become a Volunteer for Malta Festival 2025!

This year, Malta Festival celebrates its 35th edition – and you’re invited to help create it with us!

By joining the festival team, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how one of the biggest cultural events in Poland comes to life. You’ll meet amazing people driven by the same energy and passion, and you’ll gain valuable skills that will benefit you well into the future.

No previous experience is required — what matters most is your commitment, attentiveness, and willingness to act. Under the guidance of experienced professionals from various fields, we’ll make sure you have the opportunity to learn, grow, and simply have a great time.

We offer not just a great atmosphere, but real support. Before the festival begins, you’ll be invited to a training session tailored to your selected area. During the event itself, you can count on the support and assistance of the Malta Festival team. Our Festival Center, located at the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts in Poznań, will offer you drinks and snacks throughout the festival days. After completing your volunteer work, you’ll receive an official certificate of participation.

You can also complete your university internship during your time as a volunteer — just indicate this option on the application form.

Additionally, you’ll have the chance to attend selected festival events — depending on availability and space.

Malta Festival takes place from June 20–28, 2025, but in the form you can choose to join us a few days earlier, when we are preparing the festival for the public.

Anyone aged 16 and above is welcome to volunteer. We will sign a formal agreement with each participant.

AREAS OF INTEREST - MALTA FESTIVAL 2025

    Volunteer departments you can support:

WELCOME DESK - This is the first point of contact for our guests, artists, and festival participants who visit the Festival Center to collect their accreditation, ask about the program, or get practical information. You’ll be the first person they meet! This role is ideal for those who love interacting with people, enjoy a variety of tasks, and want to truly experience the unique atmosphere of the festival.

PRODUCTION AND LOGISTICS - Backstage – without a doubt, one of the most crucial departments of the festival. Without flawless logistics and detailed planning, the entire undertaking wouldn’t be possible. As a volunteer in this department, you’ll learn how to plan actions so that everything reaches the right place at the right time. If you’re curious about how cultural events are created behind the scenes and want to learn as much as possible — this is the perfect department for you! Here you’ll discover the festival from the inside out and gain the essential basics of event production.

GUEST SERVICES - A department that truly brings people together. If you’d like to accompany artists from Poland, Europe, and beyond, act as a guide for theater groups, and you speak fluent English and/or another language (Italian, Spanish, or French is a plus), you’ll fit in perfectly here. You’ll become the caretaker of our honored guests: the artists featured in Malta Festival’s program. You’ll assist in coordinating rehearsal, interview, and performance schedules, and accompany the teams to rehearsals, events, or hotels. This role requires flexibility and full availability, but offers the incredible opportunity to meet some of the most fascinating people at the festival, opening doors for growth and inspiration!

AUDIENCE SERVICES - In this department, you’ll take care of the most important part of Malta Festival — the audience! You’ll ensure everyone finds their seat, is well-informed, and gets to their events on time. Volunteers in this team are at the heart of every screening and every performance happening during the festival. Smooth and timely seating is key to a successful event start. Love cinema? Love theater? Love music? This is the place to be — close to the art and surrounded by people who feel the same passion.

MARKETING - Are you interested in promotion, communication, or working with brands? Want to learn how the marketing of a major cultural event really works behind the scenes? Become a volunteer in the department responsible for building the festival’s image, working with partners, and promoting the events!

PRESS OFFICE / MEDIA -If you are passionate about journalism, social media, or dream of working in PR — this is the perfect place for you. Here you’ll develop practical writing, content creation, and media communication skills. You’ll learn how to work with journalists, prepare press materials, event coverage, and promotional content — all under the supervision of experienced PR specialists and social media managers who work on major cultural projects. This is your chance to see how a professional press office operates — and to co-create the public image of one of Poland’s largest festivals.

VOLUNTEER CENTER - This is where it all starts — and where everything often comes together. The Volunteer Center is the operational heart of the Malta Festival volunteer team. It’s where information, people, and positive energy meet. If you’re a multitasker, love working with people, and feel confident in organizational tasks, this is the perfect space for you.

FESTIVAL TV - Dreaming of working in television or creating your own video productions? Want to learn how to best capture the atmosphere of a cultural event? In the Festival TV department — under the guidance of experienced professionals — you’ll engage in a variety of tasks related to producing video content, from documenting events to editorial support and production coordination.

CINEMA - Love cozy movie nights? Want to help organize unique open-air screenings right in the heart of Poznań? The Cinema Department is for those who love film and want to ensure that every screening at the Old Market Square becomes more than just a movie — a shared, magical festival experience.

FESTIVAL CLUB - If you enjoy meeting artists, writers, creators, and culture enthusiasts — and thrive in a dynamic, social environment — the Festival Club team is the place for you. This is where we host meetings, discussion panels, and artistic events for festival guests.
