WELCOME DESK

This is the first point of contact, where every participant’s festival experience begins. This is where guests, artists, audiences, and media collect their accreditations, look for information, and form their first impression of the entire event. If you value working with people and feel comfortable in a dynamic environment, this is the place for you.

What will you do?

Your starting point will be helping to welcome festival participants and ensuring they have an unforgettable first impression. You will greet guests, print and distribute accreditations, hand out informational materials, and answer any questions about the programme, locations, and attractions of Malta. In other words, you will direct people to where performances, concerts, and other events take place.

Why is it worth it?

This is an opportunity to develop communication, interpersonal, and language skills that will certainly be useful in all your future projects and challenges.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for people who are open, communicative, and well-organized. The ability to convey information clearly, stay calm in dynamic situations, and readiness to act are essential. Patience, politeness, and a high level of personal culture will definitely be useful. Knowledge of foreign languages will be a strong asset.

PRODUCTION AND LOGISTICS

Backstage is one of the key departments of the Festival, responsible for the smooth running of the event. Everything must be on time and in the right place – from technical facilities to spatial organization. Unlike the planning and administrative phase, which takes place much earlier, the tasks of volunteers during the Festival will involve concrete operational activities: technical and logistical support, as well as handling ongoing tasks on-site. This is the perfect department for those who want to see the Festival “from the inside” and actively take part in its creation through hands-on work.

What will you do?

You will support the logistics of setting up and dismantling stages and festival spaces. You will help with arranging equipment, keeping track of schedules, and preparing events. Your role will also include responding to ongoing needs and situations that require quick action.

Why is it worth it?

You will gain practical experience in event production and see what the process of creating a festival looks like from behind the scenes. You will learn organization, teamwork, and logistical planning. This is a great starting point for those considering a career in events, theatre, or concert production.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for energetic, responsible, and well-organized people. Availability, punctuality, and readiness to act in changing conditions are essential. The Production Department operates according to a set schedule (partly dependent on artists’ performances), so we count on your commitment. Confidence in taking on technical tasks will also be an advantage.

GUESTS DEPARTMENT

This is a department that connects people and offers the opportunity for direct contact with artists and creators from Poland and abroad. You will act as a host for our special guests – the artists shaping the Malta Festival programme. You will support us in coordinating schedules of rehearsals, interviews, and performances, and in accompanying teams on their way to rehearsals, events, hotels, or the airport.

What will you do?

You will be the first point of contact for artists, creators, and speakers, helping them acclimatize to the festival. You will ensure that guests reach event locations and that their stay runs smoothly. You will assist in organizing schedules, and sometimes accompany guests around festival spaces, making sure they know where they need to be and when. Your language skills may turn out to be a superpower!

Why is it worth it?

Through close contact with artists, you will meet inspiring people from various fields of art and culture. You will develop organizational and interpersonal skills, and learn coordination and communication in an international environment. Volunteering in the Guests Department is a chance to gain valuable experience. If you dream of working in events, culture, or tourism, this is an ideal step toward your future career.
