HUNGRY FOR MORE? AN EXTRA DATE FOR THE COCO ROSIE OPERA!

The interest has been so strong that the two scheduled performances were not enough. We’re happy to announce an additional show of La Mort de la Mer by CocoRosie – June 23 at 14:00.

CocoRosie’s opera-performance, featuring Polish actress Justyna Wasilewska, will begin enchanting Malta Festival audiences on June 22. Inspired by the eight phases of the moon and the rhythms of nature, the piece begins with a question about the relationship between humans and the planet in a time of ecological crisis. The narrative is guided by two symbolic figures – Moon and Sea – opening a space for reflection on time, memory, and the human place within nature and the cosmos. The whole unfolds as a meditative experience, suspended between the intimate and the planetary.

You enter a space where music, performance, and visual theatre form a single environment. La Mort de la Mer develops in a cyclical, ritual rhythm, and you can experience it from different perspectives – in close proximity to the action and with the possibility of shifting your point of view. This also marks CocoRosie’s return to Malta Festival, twenty years after their first concert in Poland – the performance will take place at the Grand Hall of Centrum Kultury Zamek.

If you were planning to see La Mort de la Mer and didn’t manage to get tickets – this is your golden opportunity.
