MALTA FESTIVAL – A CELEBRATION OF DIVERSITY!

20/03/2025

Ahead of us are more spectacular events of the jubilee 35th edition of the Malta Festival. The undisputed star of the musical stage will be the audience-beloved Róisín Murphy, while The Teskey Brothers will perform their first-ever concert in Poland. In the Old Market Square in Poznań we will present you with the breathtaking aerial spectacle “RoZéO”, and the opening weekend will feature original theatrical productions from Italy and Spain alongside Tilda Swinton and Olivier Saillard. Are you ready?

From the nostalgic “Embodying Pasolini” by Tilda Swinton and Olivier Saillard to the deeply moving blues-soul songs of Australia’s The Teskey Brothers. From the imagination-stirring aerial acrobatics of the French troupe Cie Gratte Ciel in “RoZéO” to the unique musical spectacle of the queen of electropop, Róisín Murphy (one-half of the famed ‘90s duo Moloko). The 35th jubilee edition of the Malta Festival will transform Poznań into a festival of diversity – brimming with music, movement, positive energy, and a connection with nature – from June 20 to 28.

We remain true to our path, offering the freshest and most artistically refined experiences in global music and theatre, while also trying to cater to the needs of popular culture enthusiasts. As the Canadian jazz-hip-hop fusionists BADBADNOTGOOD and the experimental French electronic group L’Impératrice dazzle concertgoers, elsewhere, Malta will resound with the sights and sounds of “ULTRAFICCIÓN nr. 1 /Fracciones de tiempo”, a sensory-stimulating spectacle by the Spanish collective El Conde de Torrefiel. Soon after, you will be drawn into the mesmerizing movement and dance of “The Rite of Spring,” a visual theatre production by Italy’s Dewey Dell.

I deeply believe that art has the power to change the world. Like a woman, it observes, draws conclusions, sensitizes, and opens us to new ways of thinking, allowing us to understand each other more fully. This year’s program – and we still have much to announce! – has been curated so that everyone can find something for themselves. The performances we invited embrace the ideas that inspire me: celebrating cyclicality, seeking harmony with Mother Earth, and striving for balance, explains Dominika Kulczyk, patron of Malta Festival. She adds, I hope that this year’s edition will stimulate the senses and imagination; that it will become a safe space for personal exploration for everyone – regardless of gender, age, skin colour, or personal beliefs.

We designed the program in a way to allow you to experience as much as possible over the festival’s nine days. Tickets for concerts will be available individually or as part of festival passes, whereas the theatrical performances with limited seating will be sold separately, from Friday, March 21, at 10:00 AM. Everyone is invited to experience “RoZéO” aerial spectacle.
