Malta Festival adds a dazzling new highlight to the program of its 35^th edition – a celebration of music, theatre, dance, and film – with a one-of-a-kind drag queen show. One of this year’s headliners will be Alaska Thunderfuck, who will perform in Poland for the very first time with her original show “An Intimate Evening with Alaska Thunderfuck.” 

Co-creator of the acclaimed Off-Broadway hit Drag: “The Musical” and winner of the second season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” – a show beloved also by Polish audiences – Alaska Thunderfuck is coming to Poznań with her very own stage spectacle. Accompanied by a pianist, she will deliver a performance filled with musical marvel and flamboyant charm. Malta Festival will host the artist’s only European appearance this year.

Alaska Thunderfuck is a pop culture phenomenon – a sharp-tongued, quick-witted performer whose shows blend boldness and camp fantasy with political engagement, social satire, and parody of cultural stereotypes surrounding the queer community. She defies categorization and joyfully shatters outdated conventions. Playing with the elasticity of both spoken and sung language, she carves out new paths for her art – spectacular, seemingly chaotic, but in truth deeply thought-out and rich with meaning.

Alaska is at once a force of nature, sweeping everything in her path, and a performer keenly aware of her voice and power – fighting for tolerance and openness. She deliberately challenges audiences’ assumptions about identity, expression, and the limits of artistic freedom. Her shows burst with rainbow colors and intense emotion; strange, captivating, provocative, irresistible – but never indifferent. 

Alaska Thunderfuck’s drag queen show will take place on Friday, June 20, as part of the Malta Festival. The event is held under the patronage of Poznań Pride, which will culminate in the Equality March on June 21.
