PAROV STELAR THE STAR OF THE OPEN-AIR CONCERT, KAYAH AND KWIAT JABLONI ARE GUESTS OF L.U.C.
Parov Stelar, beloved in Poland, will headline a concert at Lake Malta. Kayah and Kwiat Jabłoni will guest star alongside L.U.C and the Rebel Babel Film Orchestra. Poté, Tiga, DTM Funk, Jamz Supernova, Elisa Bee, Tash LC, u.r.trax and Broodoo Ramses will perform at the Festival Club. These are the latest music announcements from Malta Festival 2024, which will take place from 7 to 15 September in Poznań.
The headliner of the free open-air concert at Lake Malta will be Parov Stelar! Marcus Füreder is definitely the most popular representative of electro-swing and is celebrating 20 years of activity under the name Parov Stelar this year. The Austrian producer specializes in combining house rhythms with brass instruments, but has also explored trip-hop and nu-jazz sounds over the past two decades. “Moonlight Love Affair”, the artist’s latest studio album to date, was released in 2022, but Füreder is not slowing down and has released singles heralding the new album in recent months. In Poznań, you will be able to admire Parov Stelar in the most extravagant edition – with a full live band. This performance is a guarantee of joyful, danceable ecstasies!
Right before Parov Stelar, you will be able to listen to the soundtrack to last year’s animated adaptation of “The Peasants”, performed live by L.U.C and the Rebel Babel Film Orchestra. The rapper and composer’s guests will be Kayah and Kwiat Jabłoni. Kayah, one of the most popular Polish pop singers of the last 30 years, is known for her passion for folk and ethnic music. Kwiat Jabłoni – a duo formed by Kasia and Jacek Sienkiewicz – is in turn one of the biggest sensations on the local music market in the last few years. Their last 2 albums with original material, “Mogło być nic” and “Pokaz slajdów”, debuted at number 1 on the OLiS sales list.
Jacek Sienkiewicz from Kwiat Jabłoni will appear this evening in a double role and will open the music marathon by Lake Malta with his DJ set. The musician is working on his solo, electronic EP entitled “Trylobit”. This will be a unique opportunity to listen to songs heralding this material. Sienkiewicz will probably surprise fans of Kwiat Jabłoni with his solo incarnation. The multi-instrumentalist does not hide his fascination with the work of artists such as Fred again.., Four Tet and Ólafur Arnalds.
The Festival Club will be located at Plac Wolności, which will be open throughout the festival. The stairs built especially for this occasion will be crowned by a stage on the balcony of the tenement house at Ratajczaka Street 44. From September 7 to 15, it will host representatives of the club scene from all over the world. These will be: the curator of the Festival Club and a specialist in Caribbean sounds, Poté; one of the leading figures of electroclash – Tiga; DTM Funk, emanating soulful elegance; Jamz Supernova, fond of futuristic pop; Elisa Bee, playing techno full of groove; Tash LC, promoting African club sounds; u.r.trax, setting a high tempo, and the eclectic and unpredictable Broodoo Ramses.
On weekends (September 7-8 and September 13-15), after the DJ sets in the Festival Club, there will be silent discos. On Saturday, September 7, the NOS collective will reactivate behind the decks, consisting of Michał Nogaś, Agnieszka Obszańska and Agnieszka Szydłowska. The radio trio returns to the Malta Festival and will guarantee plenty of excitement on the dance floor.
