Good Table is an open-air dinner by Malta Festival, taking place on June 22 in the Courtyard of Poznań City Hall. The event brings together culinary art, music and social action in a multi-sensory experience. It marks a new direction for the festival, expanding its language to include cuisine as a fully-fledged artistic medium.

The event also carries a strong social dimension – half of the ticket revenue will support the Yellow Plate programme run by Kulczyk Foundation. A shared table for nearly 300 guests will become a space of encounter, where the boundaries between artists and audience dissolve.

Good Table is a carefully designed experience in which taste, sound and image form a coherent narrative. The evening unfolds in four parts corresponding to the seasons — spring, summer, autumn and winter – interpreted through the composition of dishes, aromas, presentation and live music, including excerpts from The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi. Each course becomes a separate act in a story inspired by nature, seasonality and the culinary heritage of the region.

The menu is conceived by Poznań-based chefs Dawid Łagowski, Tomasz Zdrenka and Mariusz Górecki, who draw on local products and Wielkopolska traditions, reinterpreting them through a contemporary, authorial approach. Their dishes form a narrative about place – about a city that not only hosts the festival, but actively shapes its programme through its history and flavours.

One of the courses will be created in collaboration with the event partner Kuchnia Vikinga, under the direction of chef Ewelina Łapińska. It will take the form of a summer interpretation inspired by the flavours of Podlasie, introducing a more personal perspective to the dinner.

At the centre of the event is a shared table for nearly 300 guests – artists, festival participants and audiences. It creates a situation in which the division between stage and audience disappears, giving way to encounter and co-creation.

The event also has a clear social purpose. Half of the ticket revenue will support the Yellow Plate programme by Kulczyk Foundation, which works to combat child malnutrition in Poland by providing access to nutritious meals and food education.

The table setting is designed by GotGlass. The scenography, based on light, glass, candles and distinctive yellow plates, directly references the idea behind the Yellow Plate programme.

Good Table is part of Malta Festival 2026, which will fill Poznań with theatre, music and performance events from June 21 to 28. The project expands the festival’s language, showing that cuisine can function as an artistic medium – and as a tool for real social impact.
