The panel featuring Professor of Education Ryszard Szubartowski will explore excellence, education, and the limits of today’s educational system. It will examine why some of the most talented young people often develop not because of the system, but in spite of it, and the role a teacher can play when, instead of offering ready-made answers, they encourage independent thinking and the courage to question.
For more than three decades, Professor Ryszard Szubartowski has been developing an educational approach rooted in freedom of thought, personal responsibility and a partnership between mentor and student. Many of his former pupils emphasise that he taught them not only programming, but, above all, the courage to think independently and to push beyond their own limitations.
The conversation will go beyond technology to address responsibility, freedom and the future of education. We will explore what young people truly need in order to grow and thrive, and why the most important technology of the future may still be another human being.
This is a discussion about the future of education, but also about our responsibility towards those who will shape that future.
The story of Professor Ryszard Szubartowski is also the subject of a forthcoming feature production being developed by dFlights for Netflix.
The meeting will be hosted by Marcin Sawicki.
