Additional information

  • Participation in the workshop does not require registration.
  • We recommend bringing something warm to wear, as temperatures before dawn are usually much lower and the bonfire will gradually be dying down.

Join us for the Midsummer Night celebrations – a traditional Slavic festival of fire, water and love, held around the time of the summer solstice. For centuries, Midsummer Night has been a time of rituals connected to nature, renewal and communal celebration.

The event will begin at sunset, after the concert. Everyone wishing to take part will walk together to the Warta River, where the celebration will begin and continue until sunrise.

Throughout the night, a bonfire will remain lit as the central point of the gathering, drawing on old rituals of purification and communal connection. The programme will also include the traditional floating of flower wreaths on the river.

At sunrise, the event will conclude with a series of Slavic gymnastics exercises titled Welcoming Yarilo.

Participants will have the chance to experience the atmosphere of an ancient Slavic celebration and to co-create a space for shared cultural rituals in harmony with the surrounding nature.

The event will be led by Rita Małgorzata Daniło-Gorlewicz together with instructors of Slavic gymnastics from the Metamorphosis school.
