Period Celebration Party is an opportunity to speak out about issues that are still taboo. Event will reverse the narrative about menstruation. Periods are not something to be ashamed of, they can even be celebrated. The concept of cyclical parties has become an extension of a music video created by Berlin-based artist Monika Kozub. The song “P.E.R.I.O.D.” satirized the serious problem of period poverty and won the award for best music video at the Toronto International Women Film Festival in 2022. Poland decided to continue the joyful narrative about menstruation, which resulted in the Period Celebration Party. – “This topic, although serious, should also have a less serious version in order to reach a wide audience. Hence the event with music, costumes and scenography. This opens up the possibility of further conversation, education and activism,” emphasizes Kozub. So far, these events have taken place in Berlin and London. Now, the life-giving red can be paid tribute at the Pawilon club in Poznań. The musical setting will be provided by the Poważne Dziewczyny collective. The Period Celebration Party will also provide a lot of knowledge: physiotherapist Malwina Mango will conduct a lecture on the menstrual cycle and workshops on hip loading.

The workshop will include the practices of girdling, tightening the pelvis and will expand knowledge about the essence of relaxing the body in softness.
