Ewa Kulesza’s project focuses on subtle traces of childhood experiences – memories that disappear beneath the surface of consciousness, yet continue to shape the body and the way we experience the world. The interactive installation invites visitors into an experience based on touch, presence and leaving traces behind, activating a process of personal reflection.

The exhibition becomes an encounter with what remains hidden, yet fundamental to our inner world. Kulesza – an artist, photographer and lecturer at the University of the Arts Poznań – has long explored themes of memory, the body and visual experience in her work.

The project is presented by the Women’s Time Art Gallery, a space supporting contemporary women artists and artistic practices focused on community, femininity, and social and cultural agency.

The project focuses on subtle signals connected to childhood experiences. Events from our earliest years gradually sink into the subconscious. Although they disappear within the sedimentation of memory, they remain active – continuously shaping our bodies and the way we experience the world.

The installation is interactive in nature. Built from fragile and constantly shifting materials, it invites visitors into an experience of touch, trace-making and presence in the here and now. The gesture of leaving fingerprints becomes both a physical act and a metaphor, initiating a process of reflection and immersion into one’s own history.

Ewa Kulesza’s exhibition is an encounter with what remains hidden yet fundamental to our inner world.

Czas Kobiet Art Gallery is dedicated to supporting, promoting and expanding the visibility of contemporary women artists from different generations. Its mission is to create a space in which women working in the arts can freely develop their artistic practices, present new projects and build networks of solidarity and collaboration.

The gallery focuses on art engaging with issues crucial to contemporary life: femininity and its cultural representations, community and sisterhood, women’s rights, anti-violence initiatives, the redefinition of social roles and the search for languages of agency. It supports artists who explore the place of women within art history and reflect on redefining the canon, as well as those responding directly to current social and cultural realities.

For several years, the gallery has provided living women artists with a professional, open and safe space for presenting projects across a wide range of media – from painting, drawing and sculpture to photography, multimedia installations and performance art. Both individual and collective exhibitions are presented, emphasising dialogue, exchange of perspectives and the community-building potential carried by art.
