Special Effects spectacularly transforms Półwiejska Street into a live film set. This outdoor project by Argentine duo Luciana Acuña & Alejo Moguillansky unfolds among passers-by, combining choreography, performative actions and the language of cinema into one dynamic event you have to experience.

How is an action film made? You will see it at Malta Festival. Special Effects will take place in an urban setting, on Półwiejska Street, which for the duration of the performance will function as a film set. The artists will work live, constructing scenes with the participation of performers, dancers and the audience, who will step into the roles of extras, witnesses and co-creators.

The project draws on the language of action cinema, while maintaining an open structure – scenes will emerge in real time, responding to the space, movement and presence of people. Familiar elements of film narrative – tension, pacing, repetition and synchronisation – will be transferred into the reality of the street and shaped by chance.

A key role will be played by live music performed by a DJ, setting the rhythm and dynamics of the unfolding events. Sound will organise the space and influence how both performers and spectators move within it.Special Effects is a performance that takes over the city. Półwiejska Street will not become a backdrop, but an active part of the action – a place where everyday reality is temporarily rewritten into the language of cinema and shared experience.
