Additional information
- Participation in the workshop does not require registration.
- However, the number of places is limited, so we encourage early arrival to secure participation.
During the workshop, we will immerse ourselves in the world of storytelling – exploring both the role of the storyteller and the nature of the tales themselves. It will be an encounter with an ancient form of narration known across cultures: the creation of worlds through images and words.
We will talk about how stories are born, how they can be passed on, and how sound and song carry the seeds of narrative.
The workshop will be led by storyteller Magda Justyna Polkowska from Tales of the Peoples of the Earth, who draws inspiration from inner silence as well as from the communities among whom she has lived — including the Lakota reservations in South Dakota, Mexico, Kazakhstan and the steppes of the Tuva Republic in Southern Siberia.
She hosted the radio programme Songs and Tales of the Peoples of the Earth on Polish Radio New York 910 AM. As part of the project, she also founded the Sacred Theater Collective – a theatre company staging storytelling performances for both adults and children.
