Count Henryk has everything. Status, money, and authority. The approval of the artistic world. Influential friends. A loving wife. A wonderful son. But sometimes everything is still not enough to fill the emptiness in a human heart. Sometimes everything is still not enough to stop the approaching end.

The world is trembling at its foundations. Plaster falls from decorated ceilings. Palace floors shake. Revolution is coming. All the scandals and secrets of those in power are about to be revealed. And among those implicated are people from Henryk’s closest circle. People he considered friends. Or perhaps he did not want to see who they truly were? Perhaps he owed them too much? But one cannot remain blind forever.

The revolutionaries, led by Pankracy, demand the whole truth. But are they ready to accept it? Are we, as humanity, ready for it? Are we ready to accept the full truth about the world, when we are so often unable to accept the truth about our own families and ourselves? And the truth will be painful, because it will concern the harm done to the weakest and most vulnerable. Orcio, who is losing his sight, will try to open his father’s eyes to what has been happening right under his nose.

The characters do not wander aimlessly, they spin in an epileptic dance. Everything is too sudden, too fast, too incomprehensible. It is so easy to overlook what truly matters. So easy to sleep through the apocalypse when it unfolds in our country, on our street, in our home, inside our own minds. So easy to miss it all when we place our great, untouchable, selfish SELF above everything else.
