As part of the Witches section during Malta Festival, taking place during the summer solstice from 22 to 24 June, the Witches’ Tent will be open – a unique space for gathering, rest, and collective exploration of ancient traditions and contemporary practices connected with female spirituality, intuition, and culture. Located right by the Warta River, the tent will become a place of calm, conversation, and experiencing alternative ways of being together.
The programme will include workshops, talks, and activities inspired by the symbolism of witches, rituals, and women’s community building. Participants will have the opportunity to try original herbal infusions prepared by Sara Grolewska-Szymczak, rooted in herbs and traditions of natural practices.
The tent will also become a space for discovering witch related symbols, divination practices, and motifs present both in historical beliefs and contemporary popular culture. We will explore their historical roots, meanings, and why they are re emerging today as a language for talking about women’s strength, independence, and the need for community.
Visitors will also be able to weave their own traditional flower wreath, a symbol of cyclicality, nature, and midsummer rituals connected to the solstice.
