Women’s Cinema is a series of film screenings and conversations where cinema becomes a starting point for exploring relationships, emotions and the experiences that shape contemporary life.
My Wonderful Life follows Joanna, who seems to have everything one could wish for – a family, a career and a stable life. Yet as she grows increasingly disconnected from herself, she begins to wonder whether the life she is living is truly her own. A warm and bittersweet story about finding the courage to pursue happiness on your own terms.
The screening will be followed by a conversation with actress Agata Buzek and producer Natalia Grzegorzek.
It may be wonderful, but is it really mine? This is the question faced by Joanna (Agata Buzek), the heroine of Łukasz Grzegorzek’s comedy-drama (Kamper, A Coach’s Daughter). A caring daughter, a laid-back mother, a well-liked teacher, a wife everyone can rely on – she excels in every role she plays. Yet in none of them does she feel like herself anymore. That is why Jo leads a double life, hiding a secret she shares with no one. If it were ever revealed, everything that seems so “wonderful” in her world could fall apart.
Set in the picturesque provincial town of Nysa, the film reminds us that real life is not somewhere else – it is wherever we try to be happy on our own terms.
