The debate is accompanied by staged reading of excerpts from the book Granma Nineteen and the Soviet's Secret by the Angolan writer Ondjaki, one of the most esteemed writers of modern African literature. The title secret is the key to the whole novel, full of poetry and humor - after all, the world seen from a child's perspective looks quite different... Even more so because the action takes place in Angola in the 1980s, with the civil war going on, and the country's everyday politics and life are interfered with by both Soviets and Cubans.
