THE BALLADEER OF WORLDS AND A MASTER OF INDIE FOLK. FINK TO PERFORM AT MALTA FESTIVAL 2025

17/04/2025

On June 22, the music stage of the jubilee edition of Malta Festival will be graced by a unique concert from a British artist who blends the spirit of folk with a poet’s sensitivity and the pulse of the city. Fink — a name that already has a special place in Poland’s music story — is ready to write its next chapter.

Fin Greenall, better known as Fink, is an artist with a multi-layered identity — a singer-songwriter, producer, former DJ, and composer of film music. He has collaborated with Amy Winehouse and John Legend (co-writing the hit “Greenlight”), and composed music for films by Ava DuVernay (“Selma”, “Origin”) and Steve McQueen (“12 Years a Slave”). His music has been featured in series such as “True Detective”, “Better Call Saul”, “The Walking Dead”, “Lie to Me”, and “Dear John”. For his work, he’s received three BMI Awards for songwriting.

Originally signed to the iconic Ninja Tune label as a DJ and electronic producer, Fink underwent a powerful artistic transformation — trading club beats for guitar-driven minimalism and emotional honesty. From his debut as a singer-songwriter with “Biscuits for Breakfast” (2006), through the moody “Perfect Darkness” (2011), the sensual “Hard Believer” (2014), to his latest project “Beauty In Your Wake” — each of his albums is a journey through sound, emotion, and introspective sonic landscapes.

Fink is the kind of artist who can tell an entire story in a single line and a single strum. His live shows are experiences in themselves — full of silence, tension, sonic simplicity, and hypnotic presence. He doesn’t rely on spectacle — he focuses on substance. On honesty. On connection.

At Malta Festival, Fink will perform material from his 2024 album “Beauty In Your Wake”, recorded in a historic church in Cornwall — his native region — and co-produced by Sam Okell, a Grammy winner known for his work on The Beatles’ reissues. The album is contemplative, hushed, and intimate. It feels like it was born in the space between thoughts — yet it carries immense emotional power.

It also marks his first release after signing with Sony Music Publishing Germany, following 30 years as an independent artist.

Fink holds a special place in his heart for Poland. He has performed in cities like Warsaw, Kraków, Gdańsk, and Wrocław — and each time, his concerts have been moments of closeness, reflection, and emotion. In an interview with Onet Muzyka, he said:

Polish audiences truly listen. That’s rare — the silence between songs, the focus. I feel respected here as an artist, and that gives me the freedom to be honest.
